It’s been a busy week on the publishing front. Firstly, The Godchild was published as an audiobook, and today Fatal Fortune, Fatal Flowers and Fatal Finale have been published as a box set. It’s a bit of a mouthful but it’s called, Miranda Rijks' Fatal Series Box Set (Books 1-3).
In case you haven’t read those three books, they’re about Dr Pippa Durrant who is psychologist working alongside the police. She’s trained in how spot lies and she gets involved in some twisty mysteries. My publishers are selling all three books for just 0.99c / 0.99p or free in Kindle Unlimited. It’s a scarily low price point! Click here to find out more.
My next psychological thriller, The House Swap, is currently available to review on Netgalley, which is the website for book bloggers who like to get their hands on advance copies in return for leaving reviews. Set in a chateau in the South of France and a luxury townhouse in Knightsbridge, London, it’s about two families, two beautiful homes and a one way ticket to hell… It will be published on 4 December.
I’m nearly done with the plotting of my next book. This will be my 25th psychological thriller. Crazy! I’m not sure how that’s happened. I will be ringing the changes a little though, because there’s going to be some spicy romance in this new book. I know some readers won’t love that but I’m keen to try something new and of course, find new readers.
I’ve also been in staying in my happy place in the Swiss mountains and have done some amazing and challenging walks, much to the joy of our dog. Considering a year ago I was barely able to walk at all, it’s a sheer miracle that I’m now able to do 15 km walks up and down mountains. It’s thanks to an off-label drug I’ve been put on that has reset the neural pathways that used to send my leg into agonising spasms. Even the doctors don’t really know how this works, but it’s been completely life-changing. (In case you don’t know, I had bone cancer and have a metal femur.)
Here are some photographs of my beloved Valaisan Alps. The colours this year are utterly breathtaking.
Wishing you a great rest of the weekend,
Miranda x
