When I write a book, I always imagine a vivid setting for where the story takes place. The Insomniac is based in a super luxe wellness clinic overlooking the pebbly beach of the English Channel in West Sussex.
I can’t remember if these wrought iron railings are on the beach front in Hove or Worthing (or both), but hopefully someone will remind me. Although my imaginary Serinity Spa is uber modern in whites and taupes on the inside, outside, the view is something like this.
I created this digital painting on my iPad using Procreate.
The Insomniac is out today and you can get it on Amazon right now for a special price of 99p / 99c or free in Kindle Unlimited.
“I LOVED Miranda Rijks' "THE INSOMNIAC!" There is nothing better than a journalist with a secret past, a spa owner with a plan for revenge, a locked-room luxury spa chilling setting, a funny, creepy stalker, a few more random characters for your surprise, and jaw-dropping plot twists. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!” - Netgalley Reviewer
“The Insomniac was a quick and light read, and with its clearly psychological angle, it captures the essence of a psychological thriller perfectly! I highly recommend this exciting novel!” - Marielle C, Reviewer
